July 24 – Conversational Spanish/English – The class will be held from 6:15-7:45 p.m. at Hugh Embry Library, 14215 Fourth Street. Both English speakers and Spanish speakers are welcome to this class.
July 26 – Basic Sewing Class for Kids – The class will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Hugh Embry Library, 14215 Fourth Street. Learn the basics of sewing in this class. We have the sewing machines and material, but you must call (352) 567-3576 to register.
July 31 -- 6 pm NEPCC Town Hall Meeting, at First Presbyterian Church, Dade City. Not sponsored by the Church, just using their facilities. Public discussion about developments and events in NE Pasco Rural Protected Area.
Aug. 2 – The (not so basic) Basic Course - Photography Workshop – This workshop is designed to help accelerate the learning process and gives you the information you need to become more familiar with your own camera. Space is limited to 10 and registration will be open until July 15. The workshop will run from 5-8 p.m. at Out of Our Hands Gallery, 14245 Seventh St. Call Jon Bridgan (540) 771-9086 for information.
Aug. 3 – Rain Barrel Workshop – A rain barrel collects and stores water that runs off people’s roofs preventing it from running across land, picking up pollutants and washing them into Pasco’s creeks and streams. Rain barrels can help reduce water pollution. Come to this UF/IFAS workshop from 9-10 a.m., located at 15029 14th St., and learn how. Pre-Registration and Pre-Payment is required.
Aug. 5 – Free Exams and Immunizations – The Pasco County Health Department will offer free back to school physicals and immunizations for students at its Dade City clinic from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. The clinic is located at 13941 15th St. Call (352) 521-1450 for information.
Aug. 8 – Bingo Bonanza – Come to AdventHealth Dade City, 13100 Fort King Road, from 2-3 p.m. for Bingo, prizes and refreshments as Dina Erickson, RN, shares tips on how to live your happiest, healthiest life possible. Call (833) 300-2371 to reserve your seat.
Aug. 21 – Own It! Take Charge of Your Health – From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Barrie McCrimmon, APRN-C, will discuss the importance of your wellness visit and how to make the most out of your appointment. This free event is open to the public and will take place in classrooms 107 & 108 at AdventHealth Dade City, located at 13100 Fort King Road. Reservations are required by calling (833) 300-2371. Sep. 7 – The Market Place – The event returns with a variety of vendors, crafts, foods and more! The Market place is open to the public from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hibiscus Park, Seventh Street and Bougainvillea Avenue in front of Dade City Garden Club. Sep. 7 – Dade City Car Show – The event returns to downtown from 2-7 p.m. Showcase your car, visit with other car buffs, and shop and dine in the downtown area. Call (352) 437-3466 for information.
Sep. 14 – East Pasco Friends of NRA Banquet – This annual dinner will be held from 5:30-10 p.m. at Dan Cannon Auditorium at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 S.R. 52, and raises money for the foundation to support shooting sports, gun safety, hunter’s education and more. Oct. 7 – Holes for Hope – Sunrise of Pasco invites the community this annual fundraiser golf tournament at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, 12900 Lake Jovita Blvd. All funds will be used towards aiding Sunrise’s programs and services throughout the year for events, supplies, and participant needs.
